Photography is a journey with no end, twists and turns and never ending lessons. I was very lucky to know what I wanted from the beginning, some of us need to find our niche, I always knew mine. Happiness. Whatever it is, wedding, families, babies.
For me I love a natural connection, a real smile and a genuine laugh. Nothing in this world can replace a laugh, the true medicine of the soul.
When I went to shoot little Bradan I was apprehensive, I had never done an in-home lifestyle newborn shoot, I knew what I wanted but would it be possible? The little man was adorable, he was in the comfort of his own home and relaxed, enjoying the sound of his Mammy's voice, the usual smells and warmth he was accustomed to. I thought it can't always be this easy, so I went to shoot Alfie for another test, his big gorgeous dark eyes melted me the minute he looked at me and then came the cheeky grin and all at 3 weeks old. Together Alfie and Bradan showed me that babies are best at home, inquisitive of the new person with the chunky camera rather than nervous of the studio setting and needing Mammy cuddles, these boys restored my love of babies and my excitement to work with them.
Continuing on with my investigation towards the ever popular lifestyle photography I see coming from the other side of the Atlantic I decided to take my own child out with a friend for some samples. Many a bride will have heard me say how much I love October weather yet I have never tried a portrait shoot outdoors in October, so off we went. With pure excitement after seeing initial results I quickly called a local girl to come for some more sample portfolio shots. Megan was dying to get some head shots taken and wow did she nail it, autumn colours, autumn light = my favourite shoot ever!
So I am happy to introduce you all to my photography, wedding and lifestyle. New session information coming soon!
