Photographing weddings is a highly personal job, given the occasion it is hard not to feel the sentiment, share in the moment and enjoy a working day. Every once in a while, doing a job like this, you meet people who leave an impression. Today was one of those days.
When Mark smiles his face lights up, he has such a warm and welcoming personality it is hard not to like him. Saoirse, she doesn't smile just with her face, she smiles with her whole body, she puts every ounce of energy into her happiness and this, I imagine, is what has Mark feeling so very warm.
Meeting people who enjoy each other and their lives so much has an effect on you, it makes you feel like every day should be like this, every moment. It's not only the happiness this beautiful, gorgeous, stunningly perfect couple ooze but it's also about their interactions with those around them. Saoirse is this tiny little doll but she has the biggest heart, everyone knows how much she loves them because it is in her nature to show it, with her hugs and her kisses, her laughs and her giggles. Saoirse draws you to her and once in you never want to leave. Mark leaves an impression on you that is hard to explain, his warmth and kindness is beyond what I would expect of a client but yet he also leaves you with a sense of respect. This is a man, now married to his best friend, that truly understands how wonderful his life is and openly shares his happiness with whomever he can.
Throughout the day there were numerous instances that reassured me of these thoughts, from the shaking of the hand, to the hugs, the jokes and the moments of reflection. Every part of this wedding was filled with joy and laughter, every glance between Mark and Saoirse filled with immense love. The wedding day however may be over but it is just the beginning, the start of the most exciting chapter of their lives together, when they get to move on together as one and plan their forever!
Saoirse and Mark, I know you both truly understand how lucky you are to have found each other, but here's the thing, a marriage may be in part based on the luck of having found one another, that perfect person for you but remember luck is not all of it, the rest is trust. I hope for you to forever trust each other to be there, not just for the celebrations but even just for a little cuddle on a cold winters night and I beg that you both continue to leave these impressions on whomever you meet as it is people like you who spread true happiness.
With all of my love and best wishes to you both,
