Bren is one of my husband's oldest friends, I've known him almost as long as I've known Kev, he was there on so many occasions throughout Kev's life that I cannot even begin to mention them but not enough since we've been together. Over the last few years unfortunately we have not had the chance to see Bren and Kellie as much as we should have. Things happen in life that pull you apart at times but I have rarely been happier then when I got the call to photograph this wedding as I constantly thought about how we should see more of each other, this giving us the perfect opportunity to meet up on a few occasions, not least an engagement shoot.
Kellie is like a crazy angel, she has the ability to light up your life and fill it was madness. Kellie has the most beautiful heart, kind and warm, her smile alone can make you giddy. She is also a huge inspiration to so many people, with hundreds if not thousands following her social media pages, in her own way she is helping so many others. This girl is all around perfection, love, light and fun!
I was so excited to photograph this day, rarely do I have a client that will be as addicted to photos as me, ok so Kellie photographs her food for her followers but she is also the queen of posing, and so she should be when she looks like that but this combination, I knew, would make my job so easy.
Today would be a day filled with happiness and joy but also a day to remember those recently passed. There was a buttonhole purchased in honour of Bren's dad, whose photo also hung on the stems of Kellie's flowers along with that of Bren's sister Anita and Kellie's great gran, whom she was named after. These people played a huge part in the lives of Kellie and Bren, are sorely missed, always remembered and completely a part of this day.
After starting with the boys where I spent only 20 minutes to get all I needed I arrived over at the girl's house. Met by the yummy mummy that is Suzanne I was led in to see Kellie being made up by no other than the gorgeous and talented Niamh Collins (check her out people). When Suzanne was ready to get dressed I followed her in to her room and zipped her up, once ready we called for Kellie and that is when my tears started. This mother and daughter have the best relationship I have ever seen, they are as beautiful and crazy as each other and it is heart warming to see. Follow that with dad Ian and brother Jake's leaky eye moments throughout the day, I was a complete mess at times. Still the day continued with fantastic company, outstanding food and service from the Springfield Hotel and endless dancing with a bride (and mother) who would not leave the dance floor. I love these people, I love these families and I love their LOVE.
Kellie and Bren, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to get even closer to you guys and understand even more just how perfect you are together. Kellie I know you will never find anyone the world over that could love you as much as Bren does, you are a lucky girl as he is a lucky man. Bren, I hope when you both get home we can all get out and share some more drinks, as long as your livers' are still alive.
All of my love, always,
