It was Friday, February 27th and I headed off knowing that today would be one of those days. One of those days I love, filled with happiness, joy and laughter. The boys were so relaxed I had to push them into gear, watching as they calmly discussed what knot to put in their ties. Suits in the most beautiful navy blue material I have seen in a long while were tastefully finished with tan shoes, my favourite wedding attire. Unusually the girls were just as relaxed, calm and collected just taking it all in, enjoying being pampered.
Polite, quiet and unassuming, Orla and Oisin make a fantastic couple and amazing parents. It is such a pleasure to work with people who are so down to earth and relaxed, making my work so much more enjoyable. As with all weddings I find huge enjoyment in the ceremony, be it religious or not and this was no different. Having recently had a son baptised it was a pleasure to hear the priest had equally lovely things to say about such a wonderful couple making his job easier and more enjoyable.
Little Bradan laughed, giggled and played throughout the ceremony, unawares that at that moment he was part of something huge, his family now complete, joined as one together. Amongst their families and friends their little man was cherished, as he always will be and is sure to continue to make Orla and Oisin as proud every day as they were on their wedding day, no doubt to follow in his dads footsteps to grow a love for Irish music.
A wedding day is meant to be spent enjoying time with family and friends, this is of the utmost importance and for this reason we had planned well to ensure the day would be remembered for the right reason. Before even arriving at the venue we stopped off in one of my favourite locations on the Blessington lakes and spent a mere 4 minutes with the most obliging clients capturing stunning photographs oozing with love. Of course I am always excited to arrive at Tulfarris where the ever smiling Derek and Darren wait to greet their guests with the truest charm that can be found in any venue throughout the country, for you guys I am forever grateful, you ensure clients are beaming beyond comprehension.
In such a venue you need not travel far to obtain the most beautiful scenery for backdrops, given the chilly February afternoon we were all glad of this and completed our outdoor session quickly to return to the warm luxurious surroundings of the manor house for family photographs where all were waiting. I don't think I have ever had such an upbeat family session. A baby is bound to be out of place when sat on Mammies lap with 20 people looking at him, along with a camera and video so in order to ease Bradan we all clapped and cheered for each photo, though confusion initially took over he was soon in the spirit to sit and smile and play along.
With such ease in regards to organisation and photography the day ran smoothly and Orla and Oisin were off to mingle which left me to the guests and fun did we have. Often in my ramblings will you read how I find guests to be a true reflection of a couple and for Orla and Oisin this is forever true, smiling and welcoming faces ready for fun and laughter but forever kind and true are words that can not only reflect upon the guests but my stunning clients too.
This story cannot be completed without me taking a moment to discuss the speech. Oisin's speech. Oisin you made be cry like a little baby girl, a hard feat indeed, your love and devotion to Orla is admirable and something every girl dreams of. I am so happy to have worked with you both and had the opportunity to hear your story and Oisin's poem which completely melted my heart. Oisin I am sure Orla being the fantastic woman that she is will give you many opportunities to add verse after verse to that poem and of course Bradan will likely give you reason to read it again one day as you welcome his love into your family.
I thank you forever for your kindness, I wish you endless love and smiles, be proud of who you are together and always remember you leave a mark on one wedding addicts heart with your true whole hearted love for each other.
