There are so many things I want to write for Aine and Marco, so many words building up. At times it can be hard for me to put into words how I feel, I may not be the most eloquent person in the world but I do try my best. This time however I am quite certain that my words will not meet my heart.
There is something about the Lane family that sets them apart from the rest, I spoke about this after Padraic and Helen's wedding and the sentiment has not changed. Mairead is an absolute inspiration, a hero of a woman, the kind that brightens up even the brightest of days. Aine has inherited her contagious smile, her warmth and so many of her mannerisms.
The Italians, all of you wonderful beautiful people, the love and warmth you all brought to the day can only be the greatest reflection upon Marco and his family. They say if you want to know a man then look at who he surrounds himself with, Marco you are one of the greats and it was an honour to spend time with you on the happiest day of your life.
Because this wedding in particular is so difficult for me to write about adequately, the best thing I can do is finish off with this:
As I was preparing to finish for the day, I went to sit with Aine and Marco for a moment. As Aine wiped away a tear I asked was she ok. 'Rachel', she said, 'this has been the best day of my life, I just don't want it to end.'
Aine & Marco, that day will never end. That day was the beginning of the rest of your life and, although you may forget this from time to time, each day can only get better. You have both begun with a fantastic foundation, taken the step with a beautiful celebration and you will continue along this journey together with the respect, love and honour that has been shown to you from both of your wonderful families.
From here I can only offer you my love and thanks, this is a day I will never forget.
Amor non conosce travaglio
